Good security starts with the basics: a well-lit property and equipment that’s wired to work when you need it. Kushner Electric installs security cameras, security lighting, motion and sound sensors, and the wiring behind them for homes and businesses. The company is led by Shlomo “Sol” Kushner, a master electrician with more than 20 years of experience, licensed in Maryland, Baltimore City, Baltimore County and Howard County.

What we install

Security lighting

Lighting is one of the simplest ways to make a property safer. Bright, well-placed lights at entrances, driveways, side yards and back doors make it easier to see who’s there and help you and your visitors get around safely after dark. We install new security lighting and upgrade old fixtures to brighter, more efficient ones.

Light and sound sensors

Sensors turn lights on when they’re needed instead of leaving them on all night. Motion sensors light up a path when someone walks up; light sensors switch lights on at dusk and off at dawn. We install and wire both.

Security cameras

Cameras need power, and they need it in places that aren’t always near an outlet: eaves, garages, porches and poles. We handle the whole job: mounting and setting up the cameras, and running the power and wiring to where they need to go, with clean, protected runs instead of extension cords.

Security wiring

Whether you’re installing a new system or adding to an existing one, we run the wiring for cameras, sensors and other security equipment so it’s neat, protected and reliable.

For businesses

A well-lit parking lot keeps customers, employees and property safe, and burnt-out lights reflect poorly on a business. We install, repair and maintain parking lot and pathway lighting, and our bucket truck reaches up to 50 feet for pole lights and high fixtures. We’ll look at the property with you, talk about what you’re trying to protect, and recommend where lighting, sensors and cameras will do the most good. Sol explains the options and what each will cost before any work starts. When we’re done, we clean up and show you how everything works.

Common questions

Do you monitor alarms?

No. We’re electricians: we install and wire the lighting, sensors and cameras, and we don’t offer or partner with a monitoring service.

Can you add motion sensors to my existing lights?

It depends on the fixture and the wiring. We’ll take a look and tell you what’s possible.

What else helps keep my home safe?
